so if Blackstone gives OK, does that mean you can go linger than 6 months. will you have to ship it to them each time, and what is the cost
The Chrysler guys said if I had oil analysis to back up the oil was good that going the full 15K will be fine with going over the 6mo. They said if you don't have any documentation and consistently go over 6 mo and have an oil related claim they most likely deny warranty.
I think the analysis and cost with the TBN result is around $27. They do recognize Blackstock as a reputable oil analyzer.
I did call them today and I will be taking the sample directly to them hopefully tomorrow.
So what condemnation levels on this Blackstone oil analysis do these FCA guys claim is acceptable (i.e. fuel percent, insolubles, TBN, flashpoint, soot, TAN, viscosity, etc...etc..)?
Bottom line if they don't back their condemnation levels in writing, then their statement is not even worth passing along heresay rumors and is downright irresponsible.
Blackstone tells you if your oil is suitable for continued use or not. They will tell you how much longer you should ben able to go if the oil still has life.
For those that don't know. When you send in a sample you tell them what engine you have, year, length of time or hours on oil, oil quantity added if any. Plus other info, the bottom line is it's a very engine specific analysis. They also want to know what oil and maybe filter used.
Blackstone will keep records and give great reports.
This is one of the first oil Changes on my 2001.
This is the most current on the 2001.
