Ram alternator fires

Yes an alternator fire could cause the drive belt to come off and that would cause increased steering and braking effort.
Well assume the 6.7 and 5.9 share the same front cover design.My vacuum pump and power steering are gear driven in tandem, PS pump is connected to the back of the vacuum pump, and powers both the PS and PB.
