Ford had a recall for the very same thing too. But yet you always seem to slam anything Chrysler don't you Nutz? How many people did GM kill over a weak ignition switch spring that they covered up for how many years? Again seek some therapy for your issues, it will make up a happier person.

There were other recalls in 2014 and 2016 for what appears to be the 160A alternator, but I wanted to make sure mine was not lost.

Only covers model years from 07 to 13. My 11 isn't on it either. I think they sold a lot more trucks than that over those six years, so it I'm thinking it might be that they use more than one supplier and the recall applies to only one of them.

Yes an alternator fire could cause the drive belt to come off and that would cause increased steering and braking effort.

Well assume the 6.7 and 5.9 share the same front cover design.My vacuum pump and power steering are gear driven in tandem, PS pump is connected to the back of the vacuum pump, and powers both the PS and PB.

No vacuum pump on common rail engines in Dodges/Rams.
That went out in 02.

Old news. There's been a recall out for several months on these. Dealers replace the alternator.

There are a small hand full of vendors that supply alternators to the auto industry! A manufacturer like RAM does NOT make their own alternator. The same alternator could be on other vehicles besides RAM's.

As vehicles has become more electrically complex alternator size has increased greatly. A 180 or 200 amp alternator is pushing a lot of current at times.
