Recommendations on a Small and Light TT

We recently sold our Class C MH and are considering a small TT for trips a week or less. We don't want a pickup, so are considering a mid-size SUV. We looked at the Riverside Retro 177 and like the size, but would like something with some outside storage. Any recommendations on what we should consider? Thank you in advance.

A Lance 1575 might be worth a look. 7' wide, a ton of outside storage and easy to tow. The outside storage area is the width of the queen bed above it and goes from one side of the trailer to the other.

What kind of outside storage are looking for? What do you want to put in there? You could add a box to the A-frame on the front. Also, what is your weight limit? Most smaller trailers don't have much outside storage. As far as the interior, what you are looking to have in there, beds and such and also are you wanting the wet bath or dry bath? We have been looking for awhile and have had 8 RVs. We want something that will do heavy duty so we are looking at the molded fiberglass: Oliver and Bigfoot (chunk of money and heavier), Scamp, Casita, EggCamper, Escape, Parkliner, Lil' Snoozy (you might like that since it has outside access to the under queen bed: http://www.lilsnoozy.com/

While maybe smaller than you are looking for, I travel with an Escape 17B with the optional front storage box. That, plus outside access door to the under seat storage area gives you lots of room. Total weight loaded for a long trip is 3010 lbs, 340 lbs tongue weight. No problem towing with a V6 RAV4 (56,000 miles so far).

If the 17 is too small, they also make a 19' & 21' as well as a small 5th wheel.

How about a TrailManor? Different sizes. Loaded for camping, I weigh 3,500 lbs with my 2417KD. We love ours.

We have the Micro Lite 21DS and are very pleased with it. We did not get a Murphy bed because it adds more weight to the tongue and we did not want to tear down the bed every day. We tow it with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V6. Good luck!

There's one of the CampLites in our campground at the moment. What a nifty looking rig. It has one slide which houses the dinette. It also has a BA A/C unit which, no doubt, cools that puppy right down....add them to your list....Dennis

If you plan on towing with a mid-size SUV, I'd recommend that you buy a TT that's no more than 7 feet wide. Many of the SUV's have a very small frontal area allowance. The tongue weight allowance is also usually very low.

Ditto on the Rockwood Mini Lites. For sure you'd need something with a factory tow package. On our second Rockwood and very pleased.
