replace truck with.......?

I'm trying to trade my 5th wheel & Chevy 3500, for a class A, but doesn't look like it's going to happen. Can't find the bells and whistles to keep "her" happy, at a price point that keeps me happy.

Plan B - replace the truck. That's the biggest problem she has, she doesn't trust a 12 year old truck enough to allow me to travel where I want to go, out west, up into mountains etc.

So what do I get as a replacement? I want gas this time. I know I need a duelly. Trailer comes in at 15,000lb's travel weight.

Iโ€™m not a diesel fan but at that weight...you need another diesel.
Winnebago 2101DS TT & 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71, WindyNation 300 watt solar-Lossigy 200 AH Lithium battery. Prefer boondocking, USFS, COE, BLM, NPS, TVA, state camps. Bicyclist. 14 yr. Army -11B40 then 11A - (MOS 1542 & 1560) IOBC & IOAC grad

Your joking right?
Theremis really only one gas motor even remotely capable of working with a 15K fiver. V10 Ford.
Ram and GM simply do not have any that you will be happy with.
But expect 6-7 MPG doing it. Diesel would be a much better choice. And frankly I dont understand your distaste for diesels. New diesels are just so good and reliable ots foolish not to give them a serious look.

Two years ago, 190,000 miles on our Excursion and 12 years old. Our TT was about 9500 lbs, a new pickup is close to $50,000 so we traded the TT in for a gas MH. We should have gone that way years ago.

As far as I know if you want a Chevy it's a 6 liter. I have also wondered what I will do next but I dont picture 15 K and a gas dually. A camp friend has a large converted horse trailer RV which is a beauty and has massive amounts of thick aluminum. I dont remember the weight but it had to be around 13K and he was pulling it with a GM 8.1 dually about 2007. He now has a new dually GM so it has to be a 6L. Problem is that if I were to ask how it pulls he would say it's the greatest thing in the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

15,000 lb? Diesel - any one of them she likes, you canโ€™t go wrong.

BINGO. All of the big three are so close in power, performance, and reliability, gas or diesel, that it comes down to personal preference. Or as noted, the DWโ€™s preference.
