replacement jack rod

My popup camper has stabilizer jacks that require a 1/2" metal rod to operate. They look like so


The rod ran away and I'm trying to find a replacement. The replacement from etrailer and my local camping place is less than a foot long and it's way too short, the one I had was about 20". Any of you folk found something that works well or have any recommendations on what to try?
