I currently have a 2005 Ford F250 4X4 CC long bed diesel. As far as I'm concerned it rides nice as can be, almost like a Caddy. In about two years I want to upgrade to a heavier dually for some equipment trailers I have that are marginal with an F250. I could go to an F350, but depending on the ride, does an F450 have a much harsher ride? I'd buy used, probably a 2012 to a 2015 and it would be the same configuration as the current truck. Though I'm retired, it would be my daily driver.Anyone with an F450 please let me know how it rides.Bill

Depends if it's a pickup or C&C. Pickup is a glorified F350 wide track with a bigger rear axle so plenty more stout but not really rougher. Rear springs are actually softer in some models than the 350. I've been driving a newer F550 dump truck a bit recently. Actually surprised it's not that harsh empty, but the dump bed probably weighs 2000lbs or something. 450 pickups are sweet....and I'm not a ford guy. Get great turning radius for a 22' long 4x4 and a huge rear axle that is bombproof, all in a pickup truck size package.Drove a 2010? maybe 09 F450 pickup and it was cush! Same with a new 350 wide track. Felt like the same trucks. Still big trucks but they don't drive like a covered wagon.

There's a guy on YouTube who went from a 2011 F250 to a 2016 F450. In his videos he reviews various trucks and RVs. His channel is called Big Truck Big RV. Here's his review of his F450. In it he compares the ride to his F250 to that of the F450.

I have a 2013 F-450 which, as mentioned in another post, is really a glorified F-350. Beginning with the 2015 (?) I believe the F-450 became significantly different.

When I bought my truck I tried a f450, it was nearly identical to my truck same front axle. I found the 19.5" wheels with g rated tires rode a little rougher, looking back now I should have just gotten the 450 as I have gotten used to the drw ride.

I had a 2008 F450 CC DRW 4X4 switched to a 2015 F350 CC DRW 4X4, the 350 is a much better ride, the worst part of the 450 is those 19.5 commercial tires they do nothing to help with the ride at the end of a long day I was beat, if you can do the weight I recommend the 350 for comfort

I think youll find the F250 and F350 srw trucks both are offered with the same tire/wheel combo. My previous F250 had the same exact tires and gearing as a 350srw minus the overload springs.

Tire pressure can be changed easily.

BTW...my 350DRW has tires that are rated to 80psi also, but I don't run them that high.

Understandable. The 250 calls for 65 PSI in the rear tires and the 350 calls for 80 PSI.

Those hard 19.5 tires will be the most discernible difference.

When I bought my 2013 it was much different than the CC. In or around 2015 they became more similar.

Actually the F450 is a completely different animal than the 250/350. Bigger frame, axles, brakes, suspension, 10 lug wheels etc. I have not driven one of the newer pick-up truck versions of the 450 but I have plenty of chassis cabs and they were a good deal stiffer. They're designed to haul heavier loads though so it only stands to reason.
