On May 5 I left home on the Central Coast of CA for my 9th year of ramblin' in my camper for 6 months. Didn't do much camping for the first 2 weeks, as I was visiting friends in my old "work days" area of Orange County, CA.
However, now I'm working my way up US395 to meet my son and family in a couple of weeks in Bridgeport. Since the Eastern Sierra is my favorite part of CA, I'm really looking forward to it. I think this will be the most time I've spent in this area at one time, but I've been fishing it for 40+ years.
After Bridgeport, I'll visit both my kids in the SF Bay area for Father's Day. Then I'll head for my usual destination of Dillon, MT to visit my cousin and see how many fish I can catch. Not due there until mid August, however, so plenty of time to get there. Route to and from is TBD at this time.
I'm currently at Tuttle Creek BLM campground outside of Lone Pine (where it's on a bit windy). Probably move to the nearby Alabama Hills boondocking area tomorrow for a night or two. The following pics show my site and backdoor view. Pics taken on different days, obviously. I keep a good blog of everywhere I camp (see signature at end). Check it out from time to time, if you're so inclined. Honk if you see my "Ramblin' Ralph" bumper sticker.
๐Safe travels to all,
