Running a 120v AC television using 12-volt adapter

I would think this had been addressed here previously but I tried the advanced search and also a regular internet search and couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm looking for a 24" TV for my TT....

I did exactly that with mine, cut off the cord and hard wired it to a 12v plug, in fact I also found a Sony blu-ray player that is also 12v and it's wired the same way. I've been using it this way for a couple years.
