My 18k# GVWR Horse Trailer is good for blowing at least 2 tires every year, they run right at rated load. In the most recent 10 years with a boat trailer, horse trailer, FW, and 2 equipment trailers I have never experienced a wheel failure, several tires but never a wheel. In fact in the 30 adult years of my life pulling various trailers I can't say I recall ever having a wheel failure.
