I have a 2014 springdale travel trailer. I bought the Direct tv satellite system. I looked at my TV setup and it has coaxial cable into the TV but it has another coaxial thing with a very short u shaped coaxial cable installed. I can't seem to get a single at all. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

daystrom. I tried changing the settings. It will not let me select any antenna but the slimline and doesn't allow multi switch. Also there is now power coming out so my signal meter doesn't even have power. Unfortunately it is for High Def on a SWM hookup which I don't have and didn't want. But that's the only box they are using in our area now.

Signal goes thru power antenna and park cable system. I drilled and installed another coax connector on the face plate... one for SAT and one for AIR/CABLE. Just needs a straight run from the trailer outside connector to the SAT box (bypass any amplifier connections).

Which box do you have? May try it again and reset the satellite settings, choose 18" dish and multi-switch LNB.

Reply that was my first choice to take a box from home. But being I have 3 three boxes none are the standard d-12 box. I guess I'll have to call direct tv and see if I can swap a box.

I use a D-12 standard definition receiver with the 18" dish.

I have never tried using a high-def receiver with this setup, but it should work as long as you tell the box that you are using a 18" dish with an LNB (can't remember the exact wording but you don't want to use the SWM setup. I think it is something like multi-switch.)

When I plug it back in at home, the receiver sees the SWM setup and automatically reconfigures itself for home.

If you wanted to buy one you'd have to lease it from DirecTV with a new access card. I just pull one out of a bedroom that I keep around for camping.

daystrom can you elaborate a little on the def box and tying into my account. What is it and where do I get one. I have 18" dish for the road but can't get anything from home to work. The home box will not let me change antenna or have any power to it.

Using an 18" oval dish? I have a SWM system at home and know the system needs a power injector for the LNB on the dish for it to work. I just use a standard def box while camping with an 18" dish and it works fine.

Some of the newer receiver boxes, like those that are hooked up at home through SWM will not work when hooked up direct. I've been told you need a box with a number of H24 or less. I have the SWM at home and can't get my box to work direct from the antenna.

As Steve said that loop is there to allow your dish to hook up. The dish signal won't pass through the power injector that feeds the antenna amp. Unhook the loop and hook your receiver into one of those outputs.

One of those two outlets are a direct feed to the park cable/satellite connection on the outside. That is the one you want to feed to your box to have direct isolated feed from the dish to the box.
The other outlet on the dual receptacle runs to the rv antenna circuit.
If neither one of those work, try running coax from Sat directly to the receiver through the door. If satellite reception works, then you may have a faulty cable connection from the outside receptacle.
