I bought a used triple LNB DTV dish and 50' of duel cable off of Craigslist for $20. I made a three legged platform out of wood, then later uni-strut so I could level it. I then took a receiver from the house that wasn't being used since my daughter moved out. I got to where I could set it up and aim it in about 10-15 minutes.
The only issue I ever had was the local channels. Once you go beyond 250 miles from your local service area the local channels don't work anymore so we just used the over-the-air antennae on the 5er for local channels when we wanted them.
