Scissor Steps determining how many steps you need

The feet on the bottom are pretty wide ( I think) about 2 1/2" wide x 4" or so (mine are out in the garage so thats by memory). I carry a length of plywood 14" long x 4" wide to set mine on when it's raining and muddy. Might work for your application as well.
