I had a problem with my Silverado 1500 while on our trip out west. The truck developed a misfire after I went up a steep grade east of ABQ. Had it towed to a dealer and they said they fixed it. Well, it happened again after a steep grade in northern Alabama. Called OnStar for a diagnostic and possible assistance(another tow maybe?) and to document the problem. I got out and took a look under the hood and found a plug wire had popped off the coil, put it back on and was on our way.
Went to my dealer when we got back home and had it checked out. They replaced the coil and wire. They told me that its been happening to some trucks and while not a recall issue they were taking care of the issue. Just a heads up on this.
