Shades

I would like to change the window coverings in our trailer. I am thinking either day/night shades or regular old fashioned roller blinds.

Question....where do you suggest buying the day/night shades?

We would be willing to drive into the US to buy them (reasonable distance) if we could. I hate to order online due to shipping costs and not being able to actually see and feel the product. We have driven to Elkhart Ind. for the weekend before. However, we not knowing, picked a weekend where everything was closed.

What about the Hershey RV exhibition? Are there vendors there to buy items such as window coverings and more updated light fixtures?
  • I had miniblinds cut to fit for our ROO at Lowe's and DH installed them in a jiffy. We kept the original valances so they looked like OEM. I wasn't sure I was going to like the day/night shades that were on our new TT, but absolutely love them. We have no need for the blackout type, but the regular D/N do their job very nicely. Most often, everything is completely open during the daytime. Camping World sells them cut to fit and I'm sure there are a lot of online sources. If you see something that looks like what you might want, you could certainly ask for a small swatch of the fabric before you order.
  • I have gotten shades here in the US at Home Depot & Lowes. They will cut them to the width you want.

Pricey, but MCD Shades is a frequent participant at RV shows around the US. They custom manufacture shades to order: Blackout, day/night, combo, manually operated or motor driven. They also provide installation services or you can order and DIY. A good product that I would love to buy to replace the standard issue RV shades in our TT.
