It is not news that a Cummins or Duramax of the same era are still getting the job done.
I'm not under any illusion of what the 6.0 is hence the poor resell value. I can't afford to piss money off on a new truck when mine is still running. With weak resell I'll run it till it grenades. Do you derive some perverted pleasure running down other people?
I beleive the Duramax had its growing pains as well. Early ones had injector problems and another generation had overheating issues. Cummins had issues with a killer dowl pin and 5th gear in the manual transmission so they weren't exactly problem-free either.
