I'll be right there, put on some coffee!!!!!!! - poultneyExplorerHi had similar problem can u hear the motor trying to run if so check underneath your slide where the shaft runs to the motor on ours their is a big nut so to speak that stops the slide from being pulled in to tight against the frame we just had to back it off and now we just listen for the clicks of the motor when we bring the slide in
- wmosesExplorerGotta love it when the OP comes one posting an urgent plea for help then does not return to answer follow-up questions. Makes one wonder how urgent the problem was in the first place.
- Bears_DenExplorerI recently had the same problem. My DW closed the slide and literally two minutes later she went to open the slide and it would not open. Found a loose wire between the battery and the TT on the A frame of the trailer. Tightened the wire down and bingo the slide worked. Of course this was after checking fuses and breakers and the slide switch.
- aftermathExplorer IIII had a starcraft hybrid that had the same problem. The switch was the issue. It simply reverses the polarity which reverses the direction the motor runs. Mine went out so I took it in and the shop quickly diagnosed the issue. They did not have a factory replacement so put in something that worked but looked really bad. I ordered the switch and replaced it myself.

Audrey - many more details are needed before anyoine can help. First of all we'd need a clear step my step description as to what happens when you do what. Also, the make and model of trailer would be useful as those with the same trailer might be able to offer specific instruction. If you know the make / type of the slide that would also be helpful.
And of course answers to the questions posed by others so far.
If it 'goes in but does won't come out' suggests that there could be something preventing outward movement - perhaps something physical jamming the slide in one direction? - spadoctorExplorersounds like you have lippert hydraulic slide with either a bad solenoid or motor. Find the power unit and jump from the 12volt positive supply to each of the 2 side motor terminals...one is slides in the other slides out. If it runs in both directions its the solenoid....assuming you eliminated a bad switch
- scbwrExplorer IICheck for a ground wire that is loose or disconnected.
- Community AlumniHow good is your battery. Many slide systems will not work with a battery in poor condition; sometimes even when plugged into ac power.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerwe had intermittent problems with our slides and found the wires loose in the main control panel in the back of the coach. (not the breaker panel inside)
