Slide out doesn't work

Without knowing what kind of slide you have diagnoses is pretty much impossible. Possibly check the packet of Owner's Manuals to see if you can determine the type and brand of slide. Or pictures of the slide mechanisms, control box, etc.?

You'll likely have to cut the plastic. Cut it in an L shape and use this tape to seal it back up or something equivelant.

Yes the motor is still humming.

Thanks for the replies. My concern is I cannot find the manual slideout mover. I thought some Nomad Joey owner might know where it is. Guess I will get the knife out and follow RobWNY's advice.

Since I have no idea what "Lippert Electric" means I'll just offer this little snippet of information. If it is a Schwintek slide, you won't find a motor underneath the plastic; you won't find anything. The motors for the Schwintek slide (notable from the distinctive rails on the side of the slide room) are behind the facia panels on the inside face of the slide room.

Can't remember for sure, but they might have to be accessed from outside the camper.

I had this happen on our 2004 Rockwood.

The motor had a shaft sticking out the back, on which an electric brake was placed. The brake clamps the shaft when there is no power to the motor to keep the slide from creeping out from vibration when driving.

The brake had failed and always clamped the shaft. I replaced the brake and all was well after that.

wnewbury, troubledwaters is correct. If your "Lippert Electric" is a Schwintek slideout, there's nothing under the plastic and the motors are found where he explained they are. No easy job to get at them either!

Does it have a round tube with a gear rack under the slide? You should be able to easily see it when the slide is out.
