slide out not sealing

I've had my camper since 2009. I bought it from a bank repo in Massachusetts when I was living in Binghamton NY. It has always had a slide sealing problem. I would always get a little bit of water in the camper through the slide and sometimes a lot. The difference between upstate NY and here in Central Florida is the mold. When it leaks and I'm not up on it the inside of the camper can have mold in many places which I have to clean up. Perhaps it's time to look at a repair for this problem.

The slide goes in and out very easily and has never failed me. It is rock solid but had to be rebuilt a bit when I got it because of the original water damage. The damage was in the rear seat of the booth and was easily fixed. The camper itself when I went to pick it up when I first bough ti was leaning in the sand where the problem is. The frame was bent from this leaning for obviously some time.

No wood and no rot due to aluminum and Styrofoam walls. I'll post some pics of the problem.

Thanks in advance, Joe

One of the things I've been thinking about doing is replacing part of the top trim board on the interior side. This would take me up about 2 inches and it would seal completely. Look much better but would not solve the occasional water intrusion. I have been inserting round black pipe insulation in the crevasses around the slide out. This has worked for the most part. The rubber trim on the lower corner of the rear of the slide out pulls right off every time I stick it back on so I just got in the habit of sticking that insulation in that space. The reason I'm asking for ideas is that I bought a new awning for the slide and figured it was a good time to address this ongoing problem.

The rubber seal is in place. That's how much it sags in the rear. About one and a half inch.

Good luck on your project! The slide on my 2012 Adventurer is also screwed up. I'e had shops in 7 states look at it and no one has fixed it yet. It is out about an in on top when fully closed. perfect when open. I finally took some foam insulation from Lowes and put it on the slide to seal when going down the road. Problem solved.

Here is a curtain my wife made so we wouldn't have to look at it.
What I'm looking to do is bring the rear of the slide up a couple of inches to where it will line up when out. I can not take the room out to reinforce the floor so I'm thinking of shimming the rear slide mechanism at a grad to lift the rear up when it's deployed out.

Slide is completely flush and lined up when it's in.
The sides match up straight up and down when it's open and closed, inside and out.

This is how it looks in the front. Obviously the slide is out when it's in it matches up perfectly.
