small holes in my canvas

never thought it would be so hard to find patches for the canvas on a camper. every where I have looked said they didn't have anything. even camper world said they only order a few at a time ( for whatever reason) and they're gone as soon as they hit the shelf. I looked on their web site and couldn't find it. wondering if one of you could point me in the right direction. cant be that hard. im sure im not the only person to patch a hole in the canvas/vinyl.i need to know what the good stuff is called and where can I find it. thanks for the input.
  • When i had my pup i used awning tape to hold thing together Camping world does have it my pup was a 02 and it was starting to dry up sold it for TT i do miss my pup but love the super slide

WALMART - LOWES - AMAZON is where I get 99% of my needed supplies...

Back in 2008 on Day 1 of my off-road popup trailer my big cat jumps on the roof when I opened it up and put a whole bunch of little holes in the roof...

I don't think I would have ever got any leaks from them since they were so small but it was two days old yet haha...

I ended up putting 9X12 tarps over my bed ends anyway. make it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and cuts down on the bright sunlight on the insides..

These are my poor man GIZMOs I guess...

My tent bed fabric looks like brand new even after all these years...

  • thanks for the help. after posting my message I just checked the walmart site and wouldn't you know it, there it was in store. of course the last place I looked. should have known, if walmart don't have it you don't need it, lol. got excited for nothing. again thanks for the replies.
  • For the canvas part - not the vinyl - I use iron-on patches from the fabric section of Wal-Mart. Pretty soon, my camper will be nothing but those patches. I have one of my kids hold a small ironing board up on the inside and iron the patch on from the outside. If it's a particularly bad spot, I put an additional patch on the inside as well. The people we bought the camper from did the same and those patches have held for years.

A new canvas isn't in the budget until next year (if I'm lucky), but for now we just patch the heck out of it. I just leave the iron and the ironing board in the camper. That's the only time I use them. :)
  • Go to the camping section in Wal-Mart. They have tent canvas repair kits that will do fine. OR, the next time you are in Camping World, buy a small piece of Eternabond to see if that will work on your canvas. I use it on my awning and it does very well.
  • I found tent repair kit at Bass Pro Shops but I'm sure any outdoor shop would have something. BTW I patched both the outside and inside just to be on the safe side That was about 3 or 4 years ago and I have not had any problems.

I think I see these kinds of products in WALMART in their tent camping section... Maybe you can something there that will work.
