ST trailer tire 75 mph rated

58mph for me. I feel good like I'm making up time. My mileage is much better at 58 as compared to 65. I'm going slow enough so that when you pass me doing 65 or 75 pulling that trailer swaying behind you; you are passing me quickly and I don't have worry as much about that trailer you are pulling swaying across the lines and almost hitting me.

And yeah ST tires - have you ever picked up an unmounted one. Feel that "thickness-less" of the sidewall. Notice the lack of deep tread. I run "D" range ST tires on my 6,000 GVWR trailer, I run LT on my 14,400 GVWR (dual 6,000lb axles, the rest is on the pin) 5th wheel.

Love your post Timeking. I'm right there with you. I have seen rigs fly past me in a 100 degree heat and then up the road they have a blowout.

If you've ever been behind me, you probably hate my guts, because I get 'er up to a roaring 56 mph and hit the cruise button. Sure I see you guys go flying by me, sometimes giving me the finger, but I've also seen fiberglass and aluminum siding splattered all over the side of the road. As far as LT/ST question, everytime I've needed tires I've been in Nowhereatall Nearnothing. I go to a tirestore and have them put on what they've got. My tires never rot because I wear the tread off them first.

Not all but close. I had the same situation, had to have ST replacements. I bought these Carlisle Radial Trail RH in Load Range D. I think most folks are having good luck with them and they are sold nationwide at Discount Tire.

Maybe jimnlyn should figure before running his lips. I run an average of 3 to 500 miles a day. If you can't don't mean I can't. And further more I change tires every 3 to 4 years depending on miles and tread. I'm sorry to the other members to have to read what other members can't figure and they don't have anything of merit on a topic.

Here are a couple of super popular Michelin tires. Both are LT235/85R16E rated at 3042# maximum load capacity and that’s just about where the similarity ends.

A tire’s carcass provides it’s maximum load capacity (of course you must have air pressure). Everything else is added for lasting performance and durability. The XPS Rib has an extra steel belt. It has an all steel construction, taller treads, retreadability, and sidewall inserts for protection against curb scrubbing. It’s one tough tire, designed primarily for inner city pick-up and delivery.

Durability does not add strength to a tire.

Well...we are about 3500 miles into our trip with the new Hurcules tires. Been running on the highway at 70-75 and about 8500 lb loaded. The tires look like I just put them on and there is no signs of ware. So far I am very , very happy with them.

Man, I hope you haven't jinxed yourself to having a kidney stone and having to endure the pain. :E

I can still recall the feelings I had passing the first one. The pain was so intense that when we reached the hospital, I bypassed the check-in procedure, went through the ER doors, and flopped on an exam bed. I seem to recall having my wallet in hand with health insurance card, credit cards, and cash. I alerted staff that everything was in order and I had the wherewithal to pay so just "knock me the f*&^ out". They eventually did.

I can't imagine driving myself to the ER. The Bronco I was in at the time must still have the grip marks in the dashboard.
