starcraft hybrid canvas fall out

Question

I bought a 2000 Starcraft hybrid (last winter) but the previous owner had removed canvases routinely every year for storage. I can't get them to go back in. They don't stay in the aluminum track. It doesn't look like there were ever any screws used or any crimping of the metal. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have searched &amp; searched the internet. Thank you!

Did you also find a few lengths of round plastic that are about the length of the aluminum channel that the canvas goes into? If you did, insert that into the part that goes in the channel. Taking it out makes it easier to get the canvas out. The plastic would be about 3 to 4 mm in diameter.
