next week with our 2005 Flagstaff 26BHSS TT & my TV is a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. We are heading to the mountains of NC. Any advice for this first timer when it comes setting up camp, some things not to do or any other helpful tips. Been tenting it for over 8 years with the kids and we finally upgraded.

Talk to wife before you get to sites to come up with hand signals if she has to back you in. Soooo many people argue about backing in and parking the rig. I have seen it multiple times every time I have been in a cg. I would assume not a good way to start your time at your campsite.
I usually pull up ask wife where she wants the tt. If I need help backing in she jumps out.
Then figure out what I need to do to be level in our spot. Back in and level the trailer. I do side to side first. Chock trailer tires, then unhook from TV. Then level front to back with tongue jack. Then I put down stabilizer jacks. I always set my 4 x 6 wood blocks at minumum under each stabilizer jack.
If you have hookups.. hookup. ๐Ÿ™‚
Lay out rug if you use one.
Grab a chair and a cold one and relax...
depending on time and temperature you might start a fire.

Be aware of possible flash floods when setting up camp. Bring medications for allergic reactions to vegetation and bites from bugs etc. Use controlled fire/cooking by having water to extinguish. Check for cell signal at site. Stay together don't let kids wonder off.
