Mounting Brackets In Dinette For Bicycles

Have you folks seen this?
Will the bikes really stay in place with the 2x4 just laying there not attached to anything?
I would be stressing that the bikes would bounce around into a window or something.
This is a really great idea. I like it!

    No, I don't think they would stay in place with our roads, but hey if it works for them, that's all that matters.

    I bet it would be fine. If bikes jump they are clamped in, and touching cushion on back so all they can do is go up. Since 2x4 is friction fit, it might scratch the wall on either side but it's not going anywhere

    Maybe a pin placed where you could access it thru a drawer? That may keep it from scratching the wall.

    I did something very similar, as a matter of fact I think the guy stole my idea. I set mine on the floor and it works great. Now we have a trailer.
