Thanksgiving in Anchorage in a Truck Camper 2.0
Thanksgiving in Anchorage in a Truck Camper 2.0.
For those who have been here for awhile may remember our maiden voyage in the 1966 Avion TC that we rebuilt.
2011 Thanksgiving trip report to Anchorage
We have recently booked ferry tickets to spend another Thanksgiving in Anchorage. With my work schedule, we have been unable to have a family break this summer. Similar to 2011 due to other situations.
We are hoping that we do not have to face the temperatures that we did in 2011, but this year it will be even more of a challenge, in that our oldest is off to the Military and married, but now we have my mother-in-law who lives with us, and the other three kids have grown-up significantly. the youngest two (twins b&g) are closing in on the 6 ft mark and they are only 14. Our 17yo is 5'10" and only a little shorter than his younger brother and sister.
New additions, is that I am installing an Atwoood 12000 BTU furnace soon that should keep us more comfortable, We have now a Engel fridge-freezer that is a 12V compressor unit. and hopefully we will have some new flooring in the camper before the trip.
The kids still have fond memories of that previous trip, and are very much looking forward to this next trip.
