You need a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible with a 125 HP flathead V8 engine. - ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIneed a link--I can't see it
- RCMAN46ExplorerThat was one of the greatest RV movies. The trailer was 36 feet long.
I went up the Whitney Portal Road featured in the film. A steep road with some 14 percent grade and 5 miles at 9 percent. Elevation at the top is 8389 ft. - Second_ChanceExplorer II

Are you logged in? Everyone else is seeing it. - LwiddisExplorer II“You need a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible with a 125 HP flathead V8 engine.“
The Merc couldn’t cut the mustard in the hills. Replaced by a very similar Lincoln. “During the scenes of Nicky and Tacy pulling their trailer in the mountains, their 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible is replaced with a larger but similar appearing 1953 Lincoln Capri convertible.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long,_Long_Trailer
