I ran across this documentary from 1952 while researching GDICI and thought it was pretty neat. Of course I am a history buff and love learning about this stuff.

Development of the Diesel Engine

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks!

Appreciate the post! Thanks to YouTube, I went from that documentary to a "How Its Made" episode of the modern diesel (thanks to Audi ... I believe). Amazing engineering.

You are welcome!

If you don't care and can find it. Can you link to the Audi diesel video? That would be kind of neat to have a post covering both the beginning of the diesel and the current diesel technology.

Thanks!

I wonder how efficient a modern Cummins/Duramax/Powerstroke engine is.

Thanks for posting. I have always loved that kind of stuff. Guess that is why I drifted into an engineering career without really having had it as a goal.
