Yep, I get a little frustrated in searching too as I don't like to post when the info is somewhere else. I "Search" common key words that I think should be obvious and come up with nothing or an occasional posting of the key word in regards to something else.Having said that, when I do post, I "Try?" to put a searchable key word subject line just for that reason.It's not easy, but can be improved on.Standing by.. heheh, fun..

I have the best results by not using the search bar in the forum. I use my google , bing or whatever and type in ....."rv.net, and ask the question whatever it may be" I always get a lot of rvnet choices to choose from.

I agree. It would be helpful if people would be specific about their query in the title line. For example: some put routing advice needed. Well why not put routing advice needed from ? to ?. Or someone is asking about Florida c.g.'s. Well it is a big state - why not ask for c.g. help in a broad area e.g.Panhandle, Tampa, Keys, Gulf Coast etc.Being specific helps others give useful advice.

Good point, I'm guilty of that from time to time. I shall reform my ways.

... also, heheh, since we're on a "try to be helpful.." thread..When referring to something that might help the cause, if you can't post a link/photo to it, then at lease post a name that can be searched, google etc. with a good name or description/model/mfg so they can find it keeping in mind that while you "Know" exactly what you're talking about, newbies may not, speaking from experience or lack thereof with me heheh, It can save a lot of time and confusion...BobnDot have the current best way of searching the Rv.net forum, by searching Google first, heheh, go figure...Thanks... good post...Just trying to help the cause...

I think this thread supports the idea of thinking before you post. The thread/subject becomes the property of RV.NET. Should a member delete posts content because they do not like the direction the thread has gone is greatly frowned on, and could compromise their membership. Simply stated, think before you post.

Personally, I like tongue-in-cheek subjects. Although I do not start many threads, I try to find a subject line that attracts attention or curiosity. For example, on another forum I posted about becoming part of the swinger club - The topic was about adding swing out brackets to my AF811.

Thanks for that tip... never thought of that method.

Just tried it now when the forum search did not find a post some time ago that had very marked and significant keywords... the search engine with same keywords worked in short orderr.
