Thoughts on the Triton V10 Engine

Looking to purchase an F350. I see lots of these engines with fairly low miles. I have heard they are great engines, but get poor gas mileage. Would use to haul my camper and pull a small boat for fishing trips. Would not be a daily driver. Just a play truck.

BTW, my current camper is fairly lightweight.....an Outfitter Apex 8 short bed. About 1800 lbs dry weight. I am looking to upgrade to a single slide camper though at some point.

Anybody had any experience with these engines hauling their campers?

Thanks.

I have been driving one around at work for about 7 years now, been solid. My setup weighs in over 12,000 lbs. Quiet and very powerful. 6 MPG. Glad I have a company gas card!

Trucks get pretty bad mileage with camper aboard. However, in this area, regular gasoline is quite a bit cheaper than diesel. Assuming the same for you, if the gasoline will do the work and it sounds like it would, I think it would be a good choice. I towed a 4000lb boat quite a lot and it was fine with the Chevy equivalent. Brholt doesn't seem to have a problem with his.
