tiedowns ,fast gun or derringer ?

We have Torklift tiedowns with Happijack turnbuckles.
We have an F350 with the larger fuel door so we need to take the turnbuckles off to refuel.
Will the Derringers get the job done or do we need to get the fastguns?
  • I asked Torklift a similar question a few years ago. Here's what they said:
"Thanks for writing. Yes, you can use the Derringer handle with Basic Spring Loads and chain.
    You are good to go."
  • Thanks for replying.
That is good as we already have 2 sets of spring loaded turnbuckles. We just need to shop for a set of Derringers.

  • Ya if you have the turnbuckles the derringers pretty flexible. Its either just cutting off turnbuckle eye and threading into derringer (you may have to thread end of turnbuckle rod), replace with all thread or use included eye, though you may still need to cut rod depending on length. The eye simplest but you end up with separate pieces.

Thanks, If we understand the listings we are finding The Derringers seem to be available in 3 colors and we are trying to find Powder coated white .
  • Not sure- about white or if a set of 2 can be had. You might contact Torklift. Their site shows only black aluminum bodies now (with same part number as old polished stainless).
Be finding some still on the shelf somewhere...

Few references for older stock still out there- if available unknown
    Torklift S9525 white
Torklift S9528 polished SST (same p/n as new al. black)

http://www.americanrvcompany.com/Torklift-S9525-Fastgun-Derringer-Retrofit-Stainless-White-4-Pack lists the older white (but pic is polished) might call to see if they have them.
  • That's what we have been finding. The listings say white but the pictures don't show white. We will be making phone calls Monday to see what's available. Those part #s should help.
    I'm sorry I didn't mean a set of 2, I meant I have 2 sets of 4 turnbuckles.:)
    Thanks
