Hi all, so in spite of knowing up front this may be a hotly contested item to post about, I'm going to toss it out there and see what comes of it.

My current TV has 275 55 R20's on it. Goodyear Eagle LS-2. I'm happy with their performance thus far, towed with them all last year. However, the time has come to get them replaced.

That said, I've been considering replacing them with the same model, or I have been looking at Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's as well as Goodyear Eagle Sport All Season.

Now as is unfortunately almost always the case, some love them, some hate them...said for all 3 tire makes. Here is my take:

Eagle LS-2 -- Like I said, have worked fine for me, and are original OEM tires. No treadlife warranty. When it comes to weight ratings and things of the towing nature, I feel comfortable using them...it is after all how they rated the truck, right?

Eagle Sport -- Much less information and reviews out there. Most of what I have seen says these are superior to the LS-2's. They are even a higher weight rated tire, 2833 lbs vs 2403 lbs for the LS-2. 50k treadlife. I've also read keywords like soft sidewall and replaced the eagle gt tires in some reviews. Not really boosting my confidence much in that regard, as I always thought of the eagle gt tire as a more sporty summer only type of tire.

Dueler H/L Alenza -- Lots of good reviews better than the LS-2, also a weight rating the same as LS-2 tire. 65k treadlife.

So does anyone have an opinion one way or another for what tire to go with? I'm hoping for someone with practical experience using maybe the eagle sport or bridgestone tire? I've already had my practical experience with the LS-2. All 3 tires are in a similar price range.

Thoughts?

I have had good luck with both sets of the older Mich LTX AT's I ran on older truck. My dad loves his LTX MS he runs on his 4 runner, but no experience with the others as I need to use an AT or ATM style tire.

Ok so what I have found is that I can't get the conti's anywhere. Discount Tire suggested a Yokohama YK-HTX tire that apparently is exclusive to them and came out last year and has little to no reviews.

The last time I had yoko's were on a car, they were terrible. Of course reading the negative reviews, most seem to fall on their avid brand of tire, which this HTX is not, but not surprisingly was the crappy one on my car.

Then we have the michelins, and I keep hearing good and bad things, so I'm a bit worried about premature rotting and cracking.

I've heard some decent things about the bridgestone dueler alenzas.

Anyone have any opinion whatsoever? (aside from soundguy...thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I've also looking into some continental lx20's. Seems there is a XL rated version of this tire as well as the SL version. Reviews seem to be fairly good. A little more pricey than the eagles but I think less than the michelins. Not sure if any of them are LT tires...I don't think they are. The contis are rated at max load at 42 psi I think, so i may end up trying those, since they should work with my sensors and what not.

Well I can't help you with your Eagle Sport or Bridgestone query but I really like the Michelin LTX M/S tires I run on my Chevy Avalanche - far superior to the junk that was on there before. Work well for me for towing and although we get considerable snow here in the winter I don't switch to snow tires and have yet to get stuck even though this particular Av is 4x2.

Thank you for the reply. I have heard good things about these and have considered them, but they may be a bit out of my price range.
