Title?

Also titled in TN, but I would check with your local vehicle registration office - or whoever does that in your area - and also the registrar from the state it would be coming from. If the current owner will give you the info, you might be able to get everything you need to know from their lender.

When we sold our ROO, it was titled in the state of TN, but registered in the county. The new owners are in KY. Their lender worked closely with our lender to make sure all the ducks were in a row and everyone knew what they needed to know. It did take some time - seems like about 30 days - but everyone got what they needed. Buying from a dealer, they should have everything you need to cross the border and handle your registration. Most likely you will owe sales tax in the state you're registering it in.

Titled in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In Indiana they are titled.

In Florida they are Titled.

In MN you need a title. If you don't have one you can apply for duplicate but, it's a long, complicated, and difficult process. I've seen 3000-4000 dollar cars junked because it was just to hard to get a title.

Not in every state. Some states do not title, or even tag, non-commercial trailers, including RVs.

I suppose what matters is what customs wants to see for you to get it in, and what Ontario wants for you to put it on the road

I got a title for my Jayco when I bought it, it was issued by Jayco. I have no clue what to do with it. The registration and bills of sale transfer ownership in MB. If you have security on a item or person you have to register it with the personal property registration department (Provincial Government). You search by name or serial number when you purchase an item to see if it is free and clear of liens.

Generally if there is an outstanding lien against the trailer there will be a lien shown on the title and when the lien is payed off the owner is issued a lien release by the bank. Arizona just became a title holding state meaning the lending institutions physically holds the title until the lien is satisfied.
You really should contact the DMV in the state where the trailer is located or look at their web site.

Thanks! I thought I'd ask here before I waited on hold at the DMV. We have a different system here in ontario, unlike the "Title" in the US the papers we get mean nothing I could still owe $20000 on it and have the ownership papers.

I have no idea about other states in the US but here in WV we do. You should call the DMV in the state where the unit is located.
