I have a question about "RV" toilet paper. Is it really necessary to use RV approved toilet paper in my truck camper? Do you guys use it or do you just use the same toilet paper that you use at home? I'v never owned an RV before so I don't know if this is necessary. I can't imagine it is much different that the Scott 1000 that I use at home. What do you use?

It's different in that it breaks down much quicker than the typical TP. That prevents clogs and such in the sensitive system. My local RV place recommended we just get the cheapest dollar store single ply. He claimed it was the same thing. Use that info at your own risk though.

In our 5er we use the same thing we use in the stick & brick and plenty water. :)

We use Northern....always have, always will. They did a test....it actually dissolves faster or nearly as fast as the special stuff.

I buy the cheepest "septic safe" TP at Walmart. breaks down just fine in the black tank.

I buy the cheap stuff at Costco for the house and trailer. I've been living in the trailer for the last 13 months (on weekdays). If I was going to have a problem by not using the 'special' paper, I should have had a problem by now.

We have a small plastic bag hanging next to the toilet.

Paper goes in there (NO, it doesn't smell) and zero concerns about what TP we buy.

But IIRC, someone here(?)did a test with 2 jars of water. In one was regular TP, the other had RV TP. Apparently the paper in both jars dissolved equally.

They did a study and found that most one ply toilet papers will break down as fast as the rv stuff. Exceptions, Charmin and Cottonelle and similar generics that are thick, strong, etc. Don't use those type of papers and you should be okay.

We use the same in Trailer as we do at home. Lots of water going in also. Never a problem in 6 different trailers.

I use the same stuff in the RV as I use in the house.

The special "RV" TP is just another way for companies to try and get more money from consumers. Oh, and the RV stuff is pretty scratchy on the back side!
