Tonneau Covers

Wondering what covers you like, for when TC is off truck. I gave my buddy my Bak Flip cover as it just got to heavy for me to manage alone anymore. Great cover, but father time, and my knees said it was time to go. Looking for a Good vinyl cover that can be rolled up to cab and left on while TC is on truck. This would be for an 8' bed. I have 5-6 inches between glass and TC. Thanks in advance for your preferences. K Mac

I had the same requirement. An easy on/off tonneau cover. Wound up with this hybrid tonneau cover. Works great!

what is "hybrid" about that? it looks like mine, unless perhaps that one is fabric, not solid vinyl.?

  • Look into Extang covers. I've had a tri-fold for years and their warranty and CS is great.

Truxedo makes nice covers, but they require attaching about 8 clamps to the rails, which takes around 5 minutes or so every time you re-install the cover. I like the "Deuce" model that rolls up, but also allows flipping up about 1/3 of the cover behind the cab for easy access to stuff that's slid up there during driving.

Extang makes a model with a slightly more convenient clamping system, but it's a tri-fold, not a roll-up.
  • not a vinyl cover but when I bought my Tacoma I was looking for a source of one of those trifold covers, and was pleasantly surprised that one was available as an option and all of the Limiteds I looked at had one.

  • I love my Softtopper, although not a tonneau cover, it is a foldable cap! It folds up like an old convertible top, and only takes up about 3" when down.
