I am looking for some info about which tongue jack to buy, I think a 4500lbs is the largest jack available? If there is a larger jack, I would like some info about that jack.

Also I would like some info from jack owners as to what brand name jack they feel is the best & which jack to stay away from. thanks

Thanks to the advise of members here I just received a "Barker model 27452" 3500lbs jack, this is a very well made jack, appears to well worth the price.

On my 2nd year with a Jack Quick HH-3500 from Amazon for about $125... cheaper than 4 co-pays at the Chiropractor so I am already ahead. ๐Ÿ™‚

Does anyone have experience with the "Husky Super Brute 5000lb Tongue Jack w/Remote Control"? I have looked for reviews & can't find any.

I personally don't, but I do have the Husky 4500lb and it has worked flawlessly for 3 years. Very strong and does the job. So my experience with Husky has been good.

Just to add, I went to the storage facility to bring it home to do some work this weekend. Hooked up the truck and put the battery in, I keep it at home on a tender. Did the switch to raise the the jack to do all my bars and such, and it just hummed. Kinda tapped the head of the jack it and it began working, intermittently. Figured I would be getting a new jack soon. Anyway, got it home and put the jack down and it did the same thing. Got it all unhooked though and went to put out my slides. Nothing.. That's when I finally checked my battery. I had tightened the wing nut on the positive post but it was just not quite tight enough. Tightened completely and everything, slides and jack worked perfectly. So I've discovered there has to be an absolute complete tight connection with the cables for everything to work.

I have had great luck with the 3500 Barker VIP and Atwood HD. The older (20080 Husky Brute I had failed totally collapsing the front after my 3rd trip.

Our hitch weight is closer to 500 pounds, most folks in the 900 pound range.

Just thought I'd toss that out there.

Well, not quite ... as you're also lifting the rear of the TV in order to mount weight distribution bars. That said, any TJ with a rating of 3500 lbs is more than sufficient for most.

I have the Ultrafab rated at 3500lbs. My first electric tongue jack ever, and have had it just a few months. Have been quite pleasd so far, but i am new to them. Price was right and had good reviews when I bought it. It really helps when lifting the rear of my truck to install and uninstall the WDH bars.

Barker and Atwood have good reps, Ultrafab has a big following too. Probably can't go wrong with any of the 3. I have an Atwood and it works fine.

Can't imagine why you'd want anything rated for more than 4500 lbs when 3500 lbs is usually plenty for most situations. Like others, I've owned an UltraFab 3502 and had no complaints about it and actually appreciated the fact that unlike many tongue jacks the head could be rotated a full 180 degrees, which in some cases can be the key to having enough room for the TV tailgate to drop fully. All that said, I like many of the features offered by the new Husky Super Brute Tongue Jack w/Remote Control. ๐Ÿ™‚

Right on cue and yet I'm on my 8th year with it and cost a fraction of the others

Glad you brought this topic up. I think my jack is starting to find itself on it's last leg, and just going into it's third season.

Starting to make some horrendous sounds, both going up and down, and the switch is also starting to stick.

These Barkers look like pretty nice machines. Is mounting pretty much standard on any jack and rv?
