Torklift landing gear

My wife's balance isn't what it used to be, so last year I upgraded my steps to Glow Steps from Torklift. They work great, but, unless you are on level ground, they don't adjust for squat, leaving the steps wobbly or too long/short depending on any slopes.

So, I was quite happy to see they make independently adjustable feet for these things called Landing Gear. Like all Torklift products, you also need to be independently wealthy to buy 'em too! Ha!

After a year, though, the rubber pads on the feet have cracked and split. They no longer stay on and I've lost one. Here's a photo;

So, I sent Torklift an e-mail with this photo attached. Within a couple hours, I got an e-mail reply asking me to call them and they would get this taken care of. So, this morning I called and spoke to Jordan. He said they were aware of the problem and had upgraded their Landing Gear design. He then said they would send me a complete new set of landing gear without any further charge! Well, I figured they'd send me more rubber feet, but not a complete new set-up. As I pointed out, they ain't cheap!

The Landing Gear is now rotated 90 degrees from the original design (like mine), but I had not heard about pad material changes until now. I know Torklift constantly improves its products based on feedback and have seen the changes in the StableLoad, SuperHitch and SuperTruss builds since my original purchases.

My steps are always attached to the camper and always stored outdoors. One of the main reasons I was willing to spend what Torklift wants for it's products is because I expect to not have to baby 'em. That they are built to be used in the outdoors and will be expected to endure exposed to the outdoors.

If Torklift had only sent me new foot pads, I probably would remove those and only slip them on when using the camper.

I wonder what the design change now is?

I've been using the Landing Gear on my GlowStep Magnum setup since June of 2015 and have not seen rubber deteriorate, but my GlowSteps are stored inside when not being used. Are yours always in the elements? I can see how this is an issue with anyone using the Revolution product that is always exposed.
