Torklift SuperHitch/SuperTruss

I have a 2008 Dodge with factory tow package. My truck camper hangs over the edge by about 26 inches. I am currently extending the hitch with an 18 inch extension. I want to extend out farther, about 36 inches. Do I need both the super hitch and truss or just the truss?
  • The SuperTruss requires a double receiver to get its rating. For any kind of hitch weight that requires a WDH, I would definitely use a SuperHitch and SuperTruss. For lighter weight tows, you can get away with a Class V receiver and 2.5" extension if you add side chains. If you only have a Class IV or III receiver, I would not go more than couple of feet towing anything under 3500 lbs.
  • I'm towing a 10 X 6 enclosed cargo trailer. Dry weight 900 lbs. 1700 pounds loaded.

I like the idea of a 2.5 foot exension? Does that attach to the factory tow hitch?
  • Is your factory receiver 2" or 2.5"? If it is the larger, Curt or Resse have the extension.
