Torx T20 8 point bit?

I'm working on a project on my TT and the screws that I need to remove appear to be Torx T20 type but instead of the normal 6 points, these things have 8 points. WEIRD!
I've checked my local sources for a bit or screwdriver and come up empty. I've also looked on the internet and had no luck there either.
Is there another name for this fastener other than Torx? Has anybody found a bit or screwdriver to fit these screws?
I really don't want to drill them out.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

  • More than likely that it metric... probably an M4. The M5 is bigger than the aftermentioned T20 and has 10 "points" I think.

PS... duh after some looking... it is just a robertson with "two squares". So basically, just use a #2 robertson (I think that's the "equivalent" to the T20).
  • Believe it or not, it's just a #2 square bit that can be inserted in two different orientations.
  • Went into closest name-brand building supply store to get 1 1/2 deck screws. Preferred square drive heads, as I have used many and have a number of hardened square bits for that purpose. Turns out that all have been replaced with t-20 star heads. They did come in white, which was good, as I would not have to go back and paint them. Point of posting, these are one of the worst products I have ever used. just about any tourque at all will strip the stars, and I am using the recommended bit made for those screws. I did set the torque on my driver to just sink them good, but any more and they strip. if they ever need to come out, the only solution is probably a hacksaw blade. So AVOID these if you can.
