Towing Long TTs

I just moved up a notch, Sunnybrook 26CKS at 28feet to a Wind River 250RDSW at 30.5 feet. One foot taller. I could move that Sunnybrook around with no problems and I expect to do the same with the Wind River. It seems there is actually less felt bump or push from the TT on rough So Cal fwy's. I'll just be watching the curbs and posts a little closer for a while.

Remember as someone staters earlier, there is no shame in dropping the trailer and coming back for it after getting fuel / food / ect

We pulled in for gas and we were pulling trailer and boat. We pulled in off the side street. Then the pumps were on an angle across the parking lot with about 15 ft in front of pumps before the sidewalk and grass. We had to turn a sharp right and then left to get through.

Let me tell you after my hubby managed to pull 72', with double hitches, through that with only about 4" to spare before hitting the pumps, another vehicle or the building...I will never be a back seat driver or comment on his driving again.

When he said we were filling the boat and truck with gas I was wondering how much and through how many insurance companies this was going to cost us.

the only issue ive had with the longer trailer is fitting into some campsites, otherwise much better than the 19' hybrid I towed previously.

Had to fill up in a one stoplight town last month, and there was no way we were going to get in / get out. We unhooked on a side street, filled up, hooked up and were on our way. Anyone else ever had to do that? :o

I have towed mine for over 1,000 miles in a week. No problem. You will think like me that 28' feet is long until someone parks next to you with a 40'. This happened to me. I could not see mine.

The biggest problem with a long trailer. Is finding a good camp site to use it in. The longer the trailer. The smaller the campsite choices.

Get the one you want.I recommend a portable backup camera, when in doubt attach to the back bumper of the TT.
