I know the Expedition is a half ton vehicle and that's a heavy trailer for it. But I know it can be done. I would just like to know how rough it is in the highway. I once towed a 6,000 lb trailer with a jeep wrangler! The expedition has the sway control and the integrated brake controller. I think that would help.
