Just how did you get that I was saying the EL or ant Expy was a substitute for the Excursion by asking the rig numbers or posting the Expys limitations?
Personally if I were to go bigger than what I can tow with a Expy, I would go with a E 350 Econoline. That would be better than a dated worn out, softened up F 250.
I agree an E350 would make a great TV, nevertheless a van an a SUV are different animals.
Someone posted the EL has a 900# TW limit. If that is the case. An EL is simply bot rated for the trailer the OP originally mentioned.
If the OP wants a van vs. a SUV there are other options.
However only the older used 3/4 ton SUV's(2500 Burb and X) are rated to tow a 9800# loaded TT.
