Buying an F-150 and plan on carrying my motorcycle in the bed. Question: Is there going to be enough clearance between tailgate down (nothing sticking over)and trailer. I know sharp turns and positioning the trailer for camping might come into play. But generally speaking for traveling is what I'm most concerned with, not load capacity and such. Thanks !

My tailgate hits the hitch ball when lowered even without the trailer attached. Sounds like a problem as sharp turns are sometimes needed getting in/out of filling stations. Is a long bed a possibility for you so that the motorcycle does not sit on the tailgate?

With my hitch jack I cannot open the tailgate of my 350 so would not be an option for me. As stated, review your payload before you put a bike, hitch and trailer on a 150.

There is a new product called Jack-e-up that may be a solution. It allows you to easily remove your tongue jack while not in use.

Whatever you do, if you leave the tailgate down, I think it might get in the way if you have to make any emergency evasive maneuvers.

The longer/higher tailgate of the new F150's WILL hit your jack. Take it off, the tailgate that is.

If you want to keep your tailgate down in it's factory position when towing, the Jack-e-up is a good solution.
