Toyota 5.7?

Really impressed with some of the adventures truck campers are able to go on. Are there makes and models that could be carried on the bed of a Toyota Tundra? Happy Camping!
  • Panther Campers out of Vacouver Wa. has simular style campers. For 1/2 and up trucks. These are simular to Capri Campers. With Fewer amenities then your normal TC.

That's because they never made a half-rack or a full case!

    Ha! :B
  • One quick word of advise, don't believe the dealers claims of what will fit on a half ton truck. Check the capacity of your truck. Then get the wet weight of the camper you find and add at LEAST 500 pounds to the camper weight (to allow for camping gear, food, etc.) to make sure your truck will be able to handle the weight. Capri campers seem to be popular with people with trucks with lighter capacities.
  • Capri Camper in Texas and Six-Pac in California make some light weight campers that a Tundra might be able to carry, depending on bed and cab size.
  • The pop up family: Hallmark, Outfitter, Four Wheel Camper, All Terrain Camper, Palomino, Northstar, etc. They are lighter, especially if you don't overload, pop up means lower center of gravity and structure is either welded aluminum or composite. To keep down the weight, people don't opt for all the tanks (fresh water grey and black water. There is less storage however some companies offer to build on a flatbed so you have outside storage compartments.
