- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWhat's a little rock salt over the past 30+ yrs?
Still running!
Seen newer Fords not looking that good - 1100SabreExplorerI was out at a friends house and he was rebuilding the frame on one just like that. The truck literally broke in half!!!! The owner is this old guy with enough money to replace 10 of those trucks with new ones but is so freaking tight he won't do it!! He is having the frame welded back together! This mechanic friend is a fabricator and is building a frame stronger that the original!!
- ROBERTSUNRUSExplorer:) Hi, this is one reason that I bought rear fender liners for my new F-150. They don't come with them anymore. :h
- buckyExplorer IIEarly Toyota trucks were brought into the US without beds to bypass the import taxes. The beds were US made and installed here.
- jerem0621Explorer IILooks like a great candidate for a flatbed conversion. Those little trucks are tough as nails. There are several still driving around here now. I am seeing less and less 70's and 80's Ford/Chevy/gmc/Dodge trucks being driven around. Just a casual observation.
Thanks!
Jeremiah - gboppExplorerAdvertise it on Ebay. It will sell.
- HannibalExplorerThirty year old Toyota with a NY tag still running? That speaks pretty highly of Toyota.
- dodge_guyExplorer III can guarantee you that truck is still tough. I would park that right next to a brand new Benz or BMW in a parking lot!!! :B
As was stated, some 10 year old trucks start to look like that! - TvovExplorer IIThat was common with the older Toyotas around me (Northeast). Especially the ones that had single wall bed! Does anyone else remember the "optional" bolted-in "double wall" add on?
Dodges were known for the front and rear bumpers rusting out in just a few years.
Fords and Chevys would have various frame pieces rust out prematurely, seemingly randomly.

I think that is an Alaska tag..
Trucks that look like that are basically non existent down here, unless a relocated northerner brings the remains of their truck down with them.
