Tracer 3175RSD 2nd A/C

We just traded our 2014 Avenger 32RED for a 2016 Tracer 3175RSD. The single air conditioner in the avenger was inadequate for our Louisiana summers and feel that the Tracer will have the same problem. The new Tracer runs off of 50amp service and is pre-wired for a second air conditioner to be installed in the vent above the bedroom. I have replaced an a/c unit on a previous camper so I am not afraid to do the work myself.

The Tracer currently has a 13.5k BTU ducted unit over the living area. Should I go with a 13.5k or 15k over the bedroom? Or should I move the 13.5k currently on the rv to the bedroom and install a 15k in its place?

    Piratically, I would just add a second 13.5k unit in the bedroom.

    No need for heating in December?

    One of the big factors is the relative humidity. I have been where the air conditioner left the RV clammy. The simple solution is to run an electric heater and the roof air conditioner at the same time. This turns the roof air into a giant dehumidifier.

    You'd be fine with another 13k unit. If you could get a 15k for the price of a 13k then I'd take the 15k. If you do get a 15k and up to the task, I'd drop it in the living space.

    By definition, an Air Conditioner is also a dehumidifier... otherwise, it'd just be a swamp cooler.

    To the OP, I'd put a 15k unit in the living area and put the 13.5k unit in the bedroom. I've been toying with the idea of doing this myself as well, but my trailer isn't pre-wired, so I've got to be more creative.

    I think anything longer than 27' needs two A/Cs when you are anywhere in the south.

    I agree about anything over 27' in the south needs 2 units. My 32' Avenger would reach 90 degrees in the daytime with its single 13.5k unit. I thought my new tracer had a 15k on it because the salesman told me that all of the 3175's on the lot had 15k units. It wasn't until I got it home that I found out it is only a 13.5k. I blame myself, I should have verified instead of taking his word for it.

    After some thinking and since I eventually want both units to be 15k BTU, I believe I am going to leave the 13.5k on the front and buy a 15k to put over the bedroom. Then if I am still not happy I will buy another 15k to put over the living area and sell the 13.5k.

    My next question, how tough is it to get the lap sealant off of the roof vent so I can install the new a/c?
