Traded 5er for TT

We had our 5er for 14 years. Wife and I agreed that we needed a trailer that is lower to the ground with no inside stairs. At 73 yrs of age, our knees are not what they once were. We had a 32ft 5er with 2 slides. We now have a 30ft TT with 3 slides. It is a Rockwood and the wife just loves it. Happy camping to all...........

I'm impressed that you are still out the at your age(s).

I hope to follow in your footsteps when I'm there-- I'm 60, my Beloved is 50.

You are an inspiration..

last year we went from 23 TT to 30 5er. we wanted to go on longer trips. 1st day out found out wife has cancer. 5er is still parked in driveway 8 months.
we look to the time in 5 more months when we can start again. she is 62 and working on beating it.
I say all this because we are never promised tomorrow. we have been semi-retired for 5 yrs, and have done a lot of camping. So Go whenever you can and enjoy what God has created
someday if we have to go to a TT, that just means we are still camping

My prayers to you and your wife. I will pray the Lord will heal her cancer. What you say is so true. The bible teaches us that our lives are like a vapor. Great advice to go camping as much as possible. We try to. It's such a great family activity

I think it maybe harder to get into your truck than it is to get into the trailer? Best of luck and good times ahead.

Glad to hear we aren't the only ones. We just traded in our 33'-0 5er for a 29'-0 TT. The stairs were bothering her hips too much as well as being to hot up in the bedroom. No regrets, we love the new TT, and at a little over 2000 lbs. lighter I hardly feel it behind our 2010 Silverado 2500 Duramax.

We too recently went back to a 32.5' TT from a 32' 5th wheel. No worries at all towing with our F250. I actually like the way it tows and rides better. Definitely more responsive to the steering while backing into a site.

Someone asked about the towing difference. The 5er was always great so this was a concern. However this tt pulls great. I have an F350 diesel dually that always performs perfectly. With the new hitch that Camping World set us up with there are no issues at all. Happy camping...........
