Bout brought tears to my eyes, did what we should have done in the first place, 1 ton, got a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500HD, 128,000 miles Loramie Q/C L/B DRW, miss the Allison tranny already, now we can upgrade the TC in the future, got the Torklift tie downs ordered already, if i understand right (90" measurement) i have to get an extension for the rear camper anchors, $300 surprise, to clear the rear truck fenders.

Call Torklift yourself, but this is what they just told me...You can drill new holes in the Torklift extensions 1 inch farther in so the extensions are 1 inch farther out. Hope that makes sense.
Also I called Bigfoot and they said it was fine to bolt 1/2" machinery eyebolts (with a shoulder) in the camper hold down holes. I did that and used nylon locking nuts. I got the eyebolts on Amazon._2 of 5pc Set (1/2"x1-1/2") Self-Colored Heavy Duty Machinery Lifting Eye Bolt for $17.25

Someone on this forum suggested turning the Fastguns upside down.
All these worked well and I have good clearance.

What was the truck with Duramax that you traded in on the dually?

I love my Duramax/Allison. I just don't drive it enough. In 26 more days I will have had it 9 years and it just hit 54k miles.

I have a 2004 Dodge dually. I did NOT have to get extensions to clear the rear fenders. The Fastguns come close to the fenders but do not touch.

You can swap an Allison 1000 into a Dodge/Cummins, people do it and there are kits.
Transmissiontuner.com is probably the best in that business.
Itโ€™s not cheap though...
You can build the Dodge trans to be extremely strong but itโ€™ll never drive and shift like an Allison.

Nice. Loved my 2007 Ram dually. Was sad to sell it, but with the trailer gone I just did not see a need.
