To test it ,pull he radio out and put a car antenna ( or a piece of wire) into the motorola jack and you will get AM.
The single element automotive style antenna mounted on our TT's roof is connected to the Jensen 'home theater' unit.........and the AM radio reception is still poor. The Winegard Sensar antenna also on the roof is connected to the TV via the powered coax jack behind the TV and nothing else.
If I want to listen to an AM station use a portable radio positioned in front of a window or go outside where the portable works even better.
