Trailer body length
At one time trailer length's were advertised tip of hitch to rear of bumper. Is that the same today, or do they measure the body ?

- It all depends on how individual manufacturers market their products.
There is no industry wide standard.
Our previous TT and our present TT advertised lengths were measured from hitch ball coupler to back of rear bumper. Some others that we had looked at specified the trailer box length itself. - Usually it is the body.
- From what I've seen the model of the trailer usually (but not always) has some version of the length of the box, i.e. our Coachmen Freedom Express 320BHDSLE, box is 32' long but the actual length indicated in the trailer literature states 36'-11" which incorporates the tongue and bumper. This was the same for our previous Skyline Mountainview 285 (box 28'-5" and 32' total length).
- My 30RIPR is actually 34'5" tip to bumper. I've always seen it listed as the box length, but I've heard it varies. My old 266RL was 26' box and 30' and change in actual length.

- Thanks for the info. We are downsizing from our 5th wheel due to my Lady's hip problem. Too many stairs.
- The model number doesn't always relate to the length of the camper. Some of the literature I've seen has a statement saying this in the fine print.
- You will find that they measure from the inside wall to inside wall. Mine was liste as 37'8", actual pin to bumper 40'2"
- Model numbers used to indicate length. More often than not it was bumper to the end of the tongue. Now there seems to be no standard.
