Leaving our 30ft trailer in storage for the summer. I am told this area gets quite high winds and a lot of rain. Any advice on covering for 30ft trailer and small car for the summer months?

You are so right. Mexicans never cease to amaze us with their ingenuity. Thanks again

People in Mexico are very resourceful out of necessity.
If you have been there for any length of time, you know this.

I am sure if you run any plan you have by a local resident, they will come up with a way to get your RV covered up.

Thank you. We are actually in Jocotepec, Jalisco. We have started to fly back to Canada in the summer. Security is not a problem, my neighbour has a recording camara directed at our trailer 24/7 and the park has security. I am just really looking for a suitable cover. I really only want a half cover allowing our neighbour access during the summer. We are thinking buying a used advertising sign. They seem very durable. We think we can attach grommets and tie down. I've been told this will work.
Thanks

You did not specify what areas of Mexico for storage?.

On the west coast of mainland Mexico, from the State of Oaxaca in the south, to the State of Sonora in the north, and including both coasts of Baja Mexico, is subject to hurricanes from July to October.
Lots of wind and lots of rain when those come through.
These hurricanes are not rare.....it's a staple of summer.
The farther inland one goes on the mainland side, the less storm impact there will be.
Not quite the same on the Baja peninsula, as the distance from west coast side to east coast side is not broad enough to fully blunt the wind forces and rain amounts.
The northern reaches, and inland, of both mainland and Baja Norte, see very little storm impacts that make their way north from off the coast of southern Mexico (storm birthplace)

I would be more concerned with the security of any storage facility you might come across. But if you must, the northern states would be the best for less wind and rain.
